Not affiliated with the paint brands

This site is not owned, operated, sponsored, endorsed, or approved by Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, Behr, Valspar, PPG, Dunn-Edwards, Farrow & Ball, HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams, Glidden, or any other brand whose colors appear here, nor by their parent companies, affiliates, or retailers.

Brand names, logos, color names, color codes, collections, and fan decks are trademarks or other intellectual property of their respective owners. We use those names only as catalog references so you can identify a published paint color (nominative fair use). Nothing on this site grants you any right in those marks, and nothing here should be read as an official product, conversion chart, or statement from a brand.

If you need an official match, formula, or warranty, contact the brand or an authorized dealer.

Color accuracy

Colors on this site are compiled from publicly available color information published by each brand and converted to a common digital format. HEX, RGB, and on-screen swatches are a translation for a display. They are not a guarantee of the color you will see on a painted wall, a physical chip, or a store-tinted can.

Among other things:

• Monitors, phones, projectors, and in-store screens show the same HEX/RGB code differently. Calibration, brightness, True Tone/Night Shift, and surrounding light all change what you see.
• Daylight versus warm or cool bulbs, time of day, adjacent colors, and the amount of natural light in a room change how a tone reads.
• Sheen (flat, matte, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss, gloss), primer, number of coats, application method, and wall texture change perceived color.
• Batch-to-batch tinting, base, sheen, and store equipment can shift a formula even when the name and code are the same.
• Light Reflectance Value (LRV) and undertone labels on this site are generated estimates from digital color data. They are not laboratory measurements and may differ from a brand’s published LRV or marketing copy.

Before you buy or paint, confirm the code on a physical chip and a wall sample from the brand, in the room, under the lighting you actually use. Color Match is a lookup aid, not a substitute for a real sample.

Cross-brand matches are not official conversions

“Closest match,” match percentage, conversion charts, and similar language on this site mean mathematical closeness in color space (Delta E on CIE Lab values derived from the digital swatch). They are not:

• an official cross-reference or equivalent published by any brand;
• a promise that two paints will look the same on the wall;
• a formula, mix, or tinting instruction;
• a recommendation to substitute one brand for another without sampling.

Two colors with a high match percentage can still look different in person. Always sample both colors if a substitution matters.

If a local consumer law does not allow a full exclusion, our responsibility is limited to the maximum extent that law allows.
